14 “Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her. 15 And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” (Ruth 1:14-15 NKJV)
⁃ In this story Orpah went back to her old land, people and gods. However, Ruth clung to Naomi and went into a new land and served God which she had never known before. With that being said Daddy God is doing a new thing. We are not to be like Orpah and go backwards. Don’t go back to things that no longer serve you and you have been delivered from. It could be old mindsets, habits, people, places, etc. None of that will serve you where Daddy God is trying to take you.
⁃ Yes people will talk and be mad and say you’re acting brand new. But the only opinion that really matters is Daddy God’s. You’re not obligated to stunt your growth to fit in with people and environments that are comfortable staying the same. It’s okay to outgrow all of it. It doesn’t mean you are better than anybody it just means you want better for yourself. When you want better you move differently… you can’t expect different results by doing the same things. Therefore, in these times we need to be like Ruth and cling to Daddy God and Jesus more than ever and follow Their leading.
