6 “When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with timbrels and lyres. 7 As they danced, they sang: “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.” 8 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?” 9 And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David.” (1 Samuel 18:6-9 NIV)
⁃ Certain people will only support you or claim to be for you aslong as you don’t surpass them. People want to see you doing good but never better than them. This is where the hatred and jealousy then comes in. They’ll love you when you’re average but as soon as you pursue greatness it’s a problem because your light makes them uncomfortable or their demons are irritated. Nevertheless it’s a Them problem not a You problem. How others feel about you or perceive you shouldn’t matter as long as you know who you are.
