What’s done in the dark always comes to light‼️

11 “Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.” 12 “For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’ 13 ” So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.” (II Samuel 12:11-13 NKJV)

In this story King David seen Bathsheba on a rooftop taking a shower. He was being lustful so he sent for her and slept with her and Bathsheba got pregnant and told him. However Bathsheba was already married to Uriah. David sent for Uriah (He was a soldier. So he was in a battle). David tried setting him up twice and even got him drunk so he can go home and sleep with Bathsheba. But Uriah was so loyal to the battle he did not go home. David sent Uriah back to Battle and had him purposely killed. Then David took Bathsheba as his wife, she had his son and He acted like nothing ever happened. However this displeased God and in the end the baby dies because of David’s sin.

⁃ Don’t ever think you got away with anything. God sees it all. What’s done in the dark will eventually come to light, no matter how long it takes. God is exposing a lot of things. Pleasing your flesh and disobeying God might feel good in the moment but there’s always consequences to our actions. It’s all fun and games until you get yourself in a situation only God and Jesus can get you out of.

⁃ This is why true repentance is necessary. When you are genuinely sorry and change your ways and life God honors that and forgives. But it doesn’t always mean you will still not have consequences. Your consequences might just not be as bad as they were originally going to be if you would have never repented. Don’t play with fire because you will get burned.
