Why Gain The World But Lose Your Soul⁉️

17 “The merciful man does good for his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh. 18 The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. 19 As righteousness leads to life, So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death. 20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord, But the blameless in their ways are His delight. 21 Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; But the posterity of the righteous will be delivered.” (Proverbs 11:17-21 NKJV)

⁃ In this lifetime we need to treat others how we would like to be treated. You can not be evil towards someone else and think you will get away with it. God sees it all and nothing goes unpunished. Everyone will reap what they sow (whether good or bad) in due time no matter how long it takes whether it’s days, weeks, months or years.

⁃ God protects His children and rewards those that do good and are righteous. God is merciful and He doesn’t want anybody to perish that’s why He gives everyone a chance to repent. However pride and ego is what stops a lot of people from genuinely repenting, admitting their faults and changing. If you want to be saved you have to deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow Jesus. What good does it do to gain the whole world but lose your soul?

34 “When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:34-38 NKJV)
