“I communed with my heart, saying, “Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.” (Ecclesiastes 1:16-18 NKJV)
- Have you ever felt like it hurts to learn and know things? … Well good, you are not alone. Solomon who was one of the wisest people in the Bible felt the same way too. Knowledge will make you sorrowful because of the new information that is revealed to you; this information brings to light the imperfections in the world, people, systems, etc. It is like having a veil over your eyes and when the knowledge is revealed the veil is removed and you can see the truth. Knowledge is the information and facts you gain but you need wisdom to know when and how to apply the knowledge you have gained.
