“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” (I John 3:1-3 NKJV)
- When you give your life to Christ you will have to go through a purification process to be made a new creation. This process is to refine us and mold us into who God destined for us to be before we were in our mother’s womb. It is a spiritual cleansing that removes the impurities we have that are contrary to God’s will and to remove sin and keep us from sinning. The purification process strengthens our relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The purification process cleans our hearts from the filth the world tried to embed in us before salvation came along. The purification process is supposed to transform us so that we can reflect God’s holiness and look more like Jesus.
- You cannot claim to know God but are not doing the internal work to get transformed by His Word or are obeying the commandments/ instructions for our lives. This is why when Jesus comes back He will tell many to “Depart from Him because He never knew them” even though many made it seem like they knew Him.
- “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV)
