“An inheritance hastily gained [by greedy, unjust means] at the beginning Will not be blessed in the end.“ (Proverbs 20:21 AMP)
- How we wait matters more than the waiting. God wants to make sure that we genuinely want Him and Jesus and not what They can do for us. It builds our faith and relationship (not religion) with Them. Also waiting helps us get to know God’s character and helps us trust Him.
- The waiting period humbles us so when the blessings come we won’t be prideful and arrogant and think we are doing it by our own strength. God needs to get ALL the glory.
- The waiting period prepares us for the blessings and helps us maintain it. There’s healing and pruning that has to happen within us in order for us to become who God created us to be. Developing the fruits of the Spirit, building our character, removing old habits, etc.
- 22 ”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.“ (Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV)
- The waiting period helps us see the true colors of the people around us. There are people that are not really for us and can’t come with us to the next level where God is trying to take us. Some people will only be for you aslong as they can use you. You don’t want opportunists, manipulators and users around you when the blessings come because they will try to take your blessings for themselves (because of envy, jealousy, etc). Pray for discernment and for God to reveal the hearts of those around you. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but the spirits and principalities behind the people. Pray for these people, leave them to God, and get away for your sake.
- ”For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.“ (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)
