Have you read the story about Martha and Mary in the book of Luke? Jesus came across a village where a woman named Martha and her sister Mary welcomed Him into their home. Mary laid down at the feet of Jesus to listen to Him teach. Martha at one point got upset and asked Jesus if He didn’t care Mary was not helping her do their work. However, 41 “The Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha! You are worried and troubled over so many things, 42 but just one is needed. Mary has chosen the right thing, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42 GNT)
Sometimes we can be like Martha upset over having to carry the weight on our shoulders with no help (so we might think) or stressing and worrying about things we shouldn’t. When in reality we should be like Mary by the feet of Jesus. We should be taking all of our problems to Jesus because He is the problem solver. “Everything is working together for our good” (Romans 8:28) I know it’s easier said than done but hard times don’t last. Jesus is making us more like Him everyday. Sometimes we have to go to training and face trials to gain experience. Trust God because He will always make a way.
