Don’t let what hurt you turn you bitter. Sometimes it is hard for us not to resent someone after they have wronged us. However Christ encourages us to “Forgive others as He has forgiven us.” (Colossians 3:13) We don’t deserve His grace or mercy yet He freely offers it to us. He gives us chances after chance even when we don’t deserve it. By the same token we need to treat others.
“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” (1 John 4:20 ) How can we claim to love God and hate His creation? There’s no way this can happen because God is love. We can’t see or touch God yet we love Him. Human beings can see and touch each other yet we can hate each other.
We have to learn to forgive each other. I know it’s hard to move past the pain and hurt. However you are not alone. Jesus is right here with us to show us how to love each other again. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16)
All in all Love Jesus and love others. Find Jesus and help others find Jesus. Forgive others and Jesus will forgive you. Exchange your fear for faith. Never give up. Turn your pain into power. Remember it’s never a loss, but a lesson. What is God trying to teach you?
