Where Does Your Identity Come From⁉️

The Parable Of The Rich Fool:

13 “Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” 15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” 16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” (Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

  • Where does your identity come from? Is your identity in what you posses? Money? Materialistic things? Other people? Opinions? Etc…. Our identity should be in Christ and in Daddy God. When we die we will not be able to take with us any of the materialistic things or any other person. Life can end at any minute and what really matters is our soul. What really matters in this world is making sure we are right with Jesus before we go so we can make it to heaven. When our identity is in Jesus we can’t be shaken because we have a solid foundation. It will also not matter what the world or other people say or think about you because you are already approved by Daddy God. However, if your identity is in money, possessions and materialistic things when it’s all gone then what? If your identity is in other people when they leave then what? You will crumble when you no longer have these things because you did not build on a solid foundation. You did not build your foundation on the rock whom is Jesus Christ. Nothing in this world is promised to last forever, but Jesus and Daddy God are. We need to make sure we are rich in Spirit before anything else.
    • 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)
  • “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

  1. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corruption, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be too.
    Matthew 6:19,21
