The Israelites are God’s people and belonged to God but the Egyptians selfishly defied God in every way. In order to make them believe in Him and set His people free, God sent Moses and Aaron to perform these tricks to the king. However, the king was so stubborn no matter what they did he would not let the Israelites go. The king would have his magicians perform the same tricks as Moses to say God was fake. Yet, when the magicians couldn’t do certain tricks the king would act like he was going to let God’s people go so the disasters sent by God upon him and the egyptians would go away. Furthermore, the king would be stubborn again and refuse to let the Israelites go.
This goes to show how merciful and graceful God is. He will keep on giving us chance after chance until we get it right. No matter how many times we fail, God will always forgive us for our sins. However, don’t take God’s kindness for weakness because He will push until you have no other choice but to obey Him. Therefore, you choose whether you want to be the enemy or the hero. Always remember that no matter what comes your way God always protects His people. “The Egyptians could not see each other, and no one left his house during that time. But the Israelites had light where they were living.” (Exodus 10:23 GNT) As you can see because the Egyptians disobeyed God he did not have them covered or protected.
