The enemy loves using your past against you. Satan will try to get you to keep on reliving your past so you don’t focus on your future. But as the song moving forward from Hezekiah Walker says “I’m not going back I’m moving ahead I’m here to declare to you my past is over, in you all things are made new, surrender my life to Christ.” The only way up is to go forward. We can not reach our destination looking at the obstacles. There are a lot of things to overcome in your walk with Christ. You have to dead all your old ways and emerge into the new you. This is why I’m grateful my Father is so graceful and patient with us. They could have given up on me a million times but they kept fighting for me.
My past is not who I am anymore. Jesus renews me everyday so I can be better than the day before. I pray this over my life and over those who want to know Christ more: 10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” (Psalms 51:10-12 NKJV) I fear the Lord more than anything in this world. The thought of them abandoning makes me want to cry. They made my life so much better I can’t imagine life without them anymore. I don’t need anything in this world, they can have it all, I just want them.
