I know some of us feel like Jesus did on the cross. When Jesus was on the cross He cried out to God and asked Him why He had abandoned Him. “At about three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud shout, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why did you abandon me?” (Matthew 27:46 GNT) Jesus felt desolated and weary. Jesus knew He had to endure all that’s so God’s promises can come into fruition. He could have cried out to God to send help and would have been saved. He did not have to endure all that but He chose to. Jesus knew there would be a reward in the end but remember He was still part human. Jesus still felt emotions and was in agony. However, He chose to put his feelings aside and let God’s will in His life be done. He gave His life up for us and didn’t have to. How many of us do things but we don’t have to? How many of us despite being in pain or in a dark place keep going?
