Jealousy

3 “After some time Cain brought some of his harvest and gave it as an offering to the Lord. 4 Then Abel brought the first lamb born to one of his sheep, killed it, and gave the best parts of it as an offering. The Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering, 5 but he rejected Cain and his offering. Cain became furious, and he scowled in anger.” (‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:3-5‬ ‭GNT‬‬) Jealousy is the first sin Cain introduced to the world. Cain got jealous at his brother because Yahweh chose Abel’s offering instead of His. Think about how many people are consumed by jealousy in this world. If you get a promotion at a job there will always be that one E away person. If Yahweh blesses you there will always be that one jealous person. If you can handle problems there will always be that one jealous person.

I can go on and on… people would rather get jealous but don’t understand everything you had to go through to get there. All the hardships and tribulations you had to face in order to get to that place. Jealousy can lead to very ugly things. For instance Cain got so jealous he decided to kill his brother Abel. “Then Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out in the fields.” When they were out in the fields, Cain turned on his brother and killed him.” (‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭GNT‬‬) This is the ultimate sin because Yahweh is the only one that can take a life away because He gave it to us. Nobody should ever get that jealous of another person to the point where they cannot control their actions and are willing to take a life away. Think about all the people that turn on each other because of jealousy? Jealousy is the epitome of destruction.

I remember when I was younger and I used to get jealous that my mom would treat everybody better than me. I would try to do anything to get her approval or to get her to notice me. As I grew older I understood she had her own personal issues. She was doing to me what her mom did to her. Instead I just decided to embrace myself and would tell myself if she doesn’t love me someone someday will. Hence, here I am with Yahweh and Yeshua and this is a love I never knew before. When everyone rejects me, they accept me. I never got anything out of getting jealous; it just made me feel angry. We shouldn’t give another person that much power over our emotions; it’s definitely not worth it. Think about it this way if it was meant for you, you would be in that position instead of them. Just trust Yahweh has a better opportunity for you.
