There is a story about a Samaritan woman in the Bible who went to get water from Jacob’s well one day. Jesus was sitting by that well and asked her for a drink. The women came up with all these excuses as to why she couldn’t give Him water. 13 “Jesus answered, “Those who drink this water will get thirsty again, but those who drink the water that I will give them will never be thirsty again. 14 The water that I will give them will become in them a spring which will provide them with life-giving water and give them eternal life.” (John 4:13-14 GNT)
The water Jesus is talking about is not actual water but the living water He can only provide when we seek him. When we drink water we will eventually get thirsty again and drink some more. However, the water Jesus gives is refreshing for the spirit. He washes away our sins, forgives us and creates in us a new heart towards Him. Wouldn’t you like to never thirst again? Imagine water that’s good for the soul? This water will be sufficient for all your needs. You won’t need relationships, money, drugs, etc because Jesus will fill all of your voids.
