Our Father in Heaven is so merciful. Think about all the times in the Bible when He spared people. For example: God knew the people of Israel were going to turn away from Him after they had crossed the promised land. Still God led Joshua and the Israelites out of the wilderness and into the land. “The Lord said to Moses, “You will soon die, and after your death the people will become unfaithful to me and break the covenant that I made with them. They will abandon me and worship the pagan gods of the land they are about to enter.” (Deuteronomy 31:16 GNT)
Moving forward, think of all the seasons God spared our life’s in the present. All the times God protected us and rescued us from things that should have taken us out of this world. Mercy is given even though it is not deserved. This is why we have to abide in Jesus so we can be as compassionate to one another as Christ is to us. “My God will supply all my needs according to the riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) Blessings come either way but when you disobey your blessings won’t be what they should be. Don’t take advantage of God’s mercy because eventually it’ll run out.
