“Much is required from the person to whom much is given; much more is required from the person to whom much more is given.” (Luke 12:48 GNT)
God is not going to bless us with an abundance of things if we can not handle the little He has already given us. For example: I used to have a problem saving money. I used to spend money on a lot of unnecessary things. By staying with no money many times I learned to be a good steward with my money. I didn’t do this on my own. I could have only done it with the help of Jesus. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Anyways, that is just one example we can use many other things. Moving forward, God has to be able to trust us with little so we can be entrusted with more. This is all a process to prepare us for what Jesus has prepared for us. We need to be positioned correctly to receive the right things from the Lord. God wants all His children to be blessed and own land, homes, business, etc. Yet, He needs to ensure we do not become greedy and turn away from Him.
Above all we need to maintain God and Jesus in the center of everything. Without them you can become selfish instead of selfless. We need to think and act like Jesus. “I have a mind like Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16) Sometimes things can get pretty hard and you’ll have no idea what to do or how to feel. We need to always maintain our faith and hope because one thing for sure is Jesus and God are always there to comfort and rescue us.
