“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” (Psalm 138:8 ESV)
God will do what He has promised us. It doesn’t matter how long we have to wait, everything shall come to pass. We serve a God whose words cannot return unto Him void. “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 ESV) The waiting process prepares us for our God giving purpose. It’s in the wait that God does the pruning. The wait is like a dressing room where God takes off the old clothes that’s on us. For example: the past, old ways, old mindsets, people, etc. Then once Jesus strips us from the worldly things He can then fill us up with His spirit and His ways. Jesus can’t do a new thing on top of the old because it will only taint what He is trying to do. For example: when your car needs an oil change you have to drain out the old oil so the new one can work at its fullest potential.
