God is not a God that will leave us in the dark. He reveals what needs to be revealed to us. He can reveal to us what’s in our present and future whether good or bad. His word in Luke 6:28 reveals that we need to “Bless those that curse us.” Therefore, when God starts revealing our enemies this is what He instructs us to do. He wants us to pray for them because “The battle does not belong to us but to the Lord.” (2 Chronicles 20:15) I know instead of this being our first response we might want to pray “send back to sender” prayers. However, this type of prayer will only backfire on us and not our enemies because we are going against God’s law.
I’ll be the first to admit I have been guilty of this but the Lord had to correct me. At first it might be hard because your enemies might in fact be the people closest to you. In my situation, God has been revealing to me it’s people in my own family that want to put curses on me and persecute me. Nevertheless, I’m not surprised because the scripture states “A man’s enemies will be those of his own household.” (Matthew 10:36) Yet, we have the greatest on our side who fights our battles and wins them. Remember what God told Abraham… “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you” (Genesis 12:3)
