Don’t go by what people say, watch the fruits they produce. “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.” (Matthew 7:16-17 NKJV) Watch what people say and what they do. Wolves can come in sheep’s clothing. Don’t go by what people say in the beginning of the friendship, relationship, etc. Even Narcissists and sociopaths put up a front in the beginning and act like they are good to lure you into their traps. Protect your time and energy at all costs. Trust your spirit and your emotions if something feels wrong don’t ignore the red flags.
Ask God for discernment so you can know who of those around you is really for you. When God reveals them to you, treat them accordingly. Pray for your enemies but do not stay around them. You can cut them completely out of your life or change the position they have in your life. You can demote people to just being your acquaintances and keep the conversations real short from Hi to Bye without sharing any personal information. If you must work with them on something keep it professional and keep your emotions out of it. You don’t have to go and let the person know that you know they have a hidden agenda, give it to God and trust He will fight all your battles for you.
Don’t let others change who you are, stay true to yourself. Be kind and have compassion for others. However, once someone proves they are undeserving of your time, let them go…
