“God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 GNT) I know it’s so easy to get discouraged when trouble comes. However, God is always there with us in our darkest moments. He is always ready to help us and uplift us. When we lack strength Jesus will give us some of His. When we need comfort God and Jesus are here to comfort us.
It’s easier said than done because I’ve been in this hard battle with my mind. I keep thinking about the past or things that are not helping me in no way. But I have to remind myself daily that I am not alone and that I no longer live there anymore. I have to remember that this is a tactic the enemy uses to get to me. Also, my past can not hold me anymore, God is trying to do a new thing in me.
Furthermore, I have to take refuge in God because I need Him, He doesn’t need me. “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. (Psalm 46:7 GNT) I have to ask Jesus to renew my mind everyday so I don’t stay stuck in this fog. Sometimes it’s inevitable but I have to make the decision everyday to keep on going. Never give up because you might be closer than you think to what God and Jesus have for you!
