Relationship & Purpose

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Us walking in purpose pleases Jesus but what He cares about the most is our relationship with Him. It doesn’t matter how many demons you cast out in His name or how many people you have told the gospel to if in the end you don’t know who Jesus really is. It’s easy to take up a religion and memorize the scriptures. However, forming a relationship with our savior is a different thing. Knowing who we are in Him is different. We need to understand the power He possesses and the power we possess because of Him. We need to really believe He is the son of God who died for our sins and not just practice the laws in the Bible. The will of God is His son Jesus and us forming a relationship with Him. When we establish the relationship, purpose will automatically come. If you want to start somewhere, start by fasting to get deeper with Jesus. While you fast pray and read the word. It’s not about abstaining from food or water because you’ll gain so much more. Although, you’ll hunger and thirst physically, your soul will be getting nourishment. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14)
